where did the GOP of Reagan vanish to?

because sometimes I feel like I'd vote for it if it were around. With Reagan's passing, perhaps it's gone forever too.

    Reagan's GOP was dominated by conservatives.

    My dream GOP would be from an even earlier time, the 50s-60s-70s when there were lots of moderate Republicans and -- believe it or not -- more than a few liberal Republicans as well.

    I don't think we'll be seeing any liberal Republicans again, not for at least another generation. However, I am hoping that the moderates will start speaking up and take back some of the power they've lost within the Republican Party.
